Reinforcing its commitment to shaping the next generation of digital investment platforms, Huawei Cloud has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thndr, one of Egypt’s leading digital investment platforms, on the sidelines of the Huawei Cloud Fintech Summit 2026. The partnership is set to deepen collaboration in fintech innovation and advance the use of cloud computing, AI, and secure digital infrastructure across the financial services ecosystem.
The MoU was signed by Jo Xu, CEO of Huawei Cloud Egypt, and Ahmad Hammouda, Co-Founder and CEO of Thndr, in the presence of senior financial and technology leaders, along with key ecosystem partners attending the summit.
Through this partnership, Huawei Cloud and Thndr aim to collaborate on select innovation initiatives leveraging cloud and AI capabilities, enhance operational efficiency, and harness the power of cloud and AI technologies to deliver more intelligent, seamless, and secure user experiences, supporting the continued growth of Egypt’s fast-evolving fintech ecosystem.
The agreement comes as a testament to Huawei Cloud’s continued commitment to enabling Egypt’s financial sector digital transformation, built on its integrated cloud infrastructure that brings together computing, storage, and networking capabilities, powered by advanced hardware-software synergy. This foundation delivers high performance, reliability, and scalability for financial institutions operating in an increasingly digital economy.
Huawei Cloud is also advancing its financial AI capabilities through a dedicated financial grade AI agent enablement platform that supports a wide range of models and use cases, helping institutions accelerate the adoption of intelligent financial services and unlock new pathways for innovation.
In this context, Jo Xu, CEO of Huawei Cloud Egypt, said: “Since launching our cloud region in Egypt in 2024, we have built a strong foundation that enables organizations to innovate through secure, flexible, and scalable cloud services, accelerating their digital transformation journeys. Over this period, we have seen strong momentum and a series of successes in empowering Egypt’s fintech sector.”
He added: “Today, we are building on that momentum through our partnership with Thndr, as we work together to deliver advanced cloud and AI solutions that enhance the efficiency of digital financial services and enable more intelligent, adaptive customer experiences. This collaboration reflects our vision of driving the financial sector toward the next generation of intelligent services, while strengthening its competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market.”
Ahmad Hammouda, Co-Founder and CEO of Thndr, commented: “At Thndr, our mission is to make investing more accessible, simple, and inclusive for millions of people across Egypt and the region. Achieving this mission requires not only innovation in financial services, but also strong technology foundations that can support growth, resilience, security, and an exceptional customer experience. We are pleased to strengthen our collaboration with Huawei Cloud as we continue to scale our platform and explore new opportunities enabled by cloud and AI technologies.”
Since establishing Egypt’s first large-scale public cloud region in 2024, Huawei Cloud has played a key role in strengthening data sovereignty and supporting the country’s broader digital economy ambitions. The company is also certified by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and holds a Tier 3 license, enabling it to serve multiple sectors in line with the highest standards of compliance, reliability, and governance.
In response to the growing needs of the fintech industry, Huawei Cloud provides a cloud environment aligned with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) requirements for data sovereignty and localization, ensuring that sensitive data is processed and stored within Egypt. This helps build trust among financial institutions while enabling a secure foundation for innovation and sustainable growth.
Together, Huawei Cloud and Thndr reaffirm their commitment to advancing Egypt’s fintech ecosystem through the adoption of cloud technologies and artificial intelligence, contributing to a more innovative, efficient, and sustainable financial sector in line with Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.
